Uganda, Sipi Falls - Organic
Mount Elgon, on the Uganda-Kenya border, features expansive plateaus and vibrant farming communities known for high-quality organic coffee. Sipi Falls, a wet mill in Kapchorwa, processes coffee from 8,000 farms, transforming local coffee production with efficient, centralized methods.
At 1,800 meters, the mill manages every step from cherry retrieval to drying, enhancing quality and increasing profits for farmers while reducing their processing burdens. Sipi Falls also emphasizes sustainability through wastewater recycling and an organic nursery. The result is rich, complex coffee with floral and citrus notes, including exceptional experimental microlots that rival the world’s best.
